Functions
- Review of Zoning, Subdivision, Floodplain, and Building Applications
- Maintain official City of Valley Center Zoning Map (see Zoning Map)
- Enforce all City of Valley Center Zoning and Subdivision Regulations
- Serve as city staff to the City of Valley Center Planning and Zoning Board and Economic Development Board
- Administer City of Valley Center's Housing Incentive Program
- Oversee all residential and commercial construction and zoning permits issued in the City of Valley Center
- Coordinate with Sedgwick County's MABCD for commercial building inspections
- Direct the community's CRS (Community Rating System) Program with U.S. FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)
- Direct local economic development initiatives, including tax abatements and business expansion/retention programs
